Exciting new developments for NGfL Cymru

30 July 2007

Method4 has recently completed the development of a set of new and exciting services for the National Grid for Learning (NGfL) Cymru.

NGfL Cymru is managed by WJEC on behalf of the Welsh Assembly Government. It provides schools, teachers and pupils with a practical and useful range of ICT based teaching and learning resources, supporting materials and information. Resources are written by teachers for teachers. It consists of over 3,000 resources and attracts around 200,000 visits a month.

The new user services developed by Method4 will bring Web 2.0 features to the NGfL Cymru website. Users will be able to set up their own profile, allowing them to create a personalised homepage. The page will include a list of favourite resources and RSS news feeds. Users will also be able to specify subject areas in which they are interested as well as the websites own latest recommend resources. A new forum will facilitate communication within the user community.

The new features will be included in the re-launch of the NGfL website this Autumn.
