Building a better picture of healthy schools in Wales
07 February 2009
Today, Method4 launches a new secure website allowing the
collection of data for the Welsh Network of Healthy School Schemes.
Method4 worked closely with the Welsh Assembly Government to
develop an intuitive, bilingual system which allows data to be
analysed easily and quickly at a local and national level. The
system provides multi tiered levels of access allowing local
authorities and Assembly Government staff to monitor progress of
the schemes from a single dashboard.
There are 22 accredited local healthy school schemes running
across Wales. The schemes promote the importance of pupil
participation in core areas of school life which directly affect
the health and well-being of children and young people. Schools
work towards achieving a series of plaques which demonstrates
commitment to being a healthy school.
The website utilises Method4Collection, a flexible product which
allows the creation of on-line, multi-lingual forms and
questionnaires. "The use of Method4Collection has not only reduced
the cost of ownership for the Assembly it also provides a platform
from which future questionnaires can evolve without costly software
rewrites" Neil Huggins, Director, Method4.
